A New and Greatly Improved Yalta

In 1945, Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin met in Yalta. This much is one of those historical facts on which everyone agrees.

The New York Times version is that  Yalta was a city in the Ukraine, which was a state that had fought valiantly with the Americans against the Germans and was independent of Russia, and so was a good place for the US, UK, and Russia to meet to discuss what would happen after the war, which the US of A had won pretty much single-handedly, and was also about to demonstrate that it was the first and only nuclear power.

Roosevelt, for reasons that, to this day escape us all, gave Stalin half of Europe, when he should only have let Stalin keep Russia, and probably not all of Russia, since large parts should have been allowed to become independent states, given how little Russia had contributed to victory in WWII.

And now Trump wants to replicate FDR's mistake in spades, giving Russia huge parts of the Ukraine, all of which must be in NATO, and the host to the largest NATO military base and a massive battery of anti-missiles that can stop any Russian attempt to nuke NATO, forcing Russia to accept all NATO terms of surrender.

St Biden was making great progress, but the return of the incompetent Trump makes it look like Russia, in the midst of total defeat, will be handed another undeserved victory.

Of course, not everyone agrees with this New York Times version of history and current events, but the New York Times is the #1 American Newspaper, and so their version is the one that most of the world is expected to accept, and I'm pretty sure most Western European leaders accept it, even if almost all of the ignorant Western European rabble are inclined to think that their leaders have IQs in the single digits.
